Today I tried to use/create something to forward my Xing network updates to twitter.

Here’s my journey so far:

1. A first look inside Xing gave me nothing to achieve it.
2. So I tried to find the “API” link on the bottom of the page. Found nothing.
3. Headed over to google “Xing API” (try it!).

To use the “API” you have to become familiar with OpenSocial, register with Xing…

OK. No API. What about RSS Feeds? Protected!

To sum up things: Xing is not open. The key to success in social media 2010 and beyond will be speed and openness. Xing lacks both.
